PAS AGM Preview
After a successful year at the helm, County Show President Dennis Reed will hand over the reins to Richard Cole at Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society's AGM tonight (Wednesday, March 8).
Mr Reed promoted the County Show and the Society to a wide audience during his tenure and he also raised a huge amount of money for his chosen charities.
Mr Reed said that being elected as president was "the most prestigious and greatest honour of my life".
His enthusiasm and inclusive spirit helped boost the profile of the Society in South Pembrokeshire, across the rest of the county and beyond.
Greater investment in last year's major attractions bumped up the cost of staging the County Show to £851,523.
Since 2015 concerted efforts have been made to increase business in the organisation's estate. PAS Promotions Ltd runs the events held at the Pavilion and, following refurbishment, the site has generated more business.
Behind the scenes, the Society's trustees and committees have been working hard during the winter months, planning the 2017 County Show. Their aim is to ensure they cover the costs of covering the major three-day event, while providing a good value, diverse and action-packed show. This year, livestock will be at the heart of the show with some exciting announcements to come.
The eagerly-anticipated announcement of the 2017 Lady Ambassador will also be revealed at the meeting, being held at the Show Pavilion.
A fantastic range of attractions are scheduled to entertain all ages at the show this year. Monster Trucks, Shetland...Read More
