New General Manager for Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society
Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society Ltd.’s newly-appointed General Manager will be taking up the reins next week.
Following a robust application procedure and interviews, the successful candidate for the top role was Pembrokeshire-born Jan Pearce, who lives in St Clears. Mrs Pearce said: "I am proud to have been brought up in the county of Pembrokeshire, living within the agricultural and equine community. I am passionate about my new role at the Society and I look forward to commencing."
Mrs Pearce has extensive senior executive and leadership skills. She has 24 years' experience in corporate services and a Master's degree in management. She has worked for the probation service, starting in the Dyfed area, moving on to Dyfed-Powys, Wales and UK-wide.
Mrs Pearce said: "I am really looking forward to being a leader, manager and ambassador for the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society and its members. I aim to enhance its continual success and to develop innovative additional revenue."
Born into the agricultural community, Mrs Pearce grew up on a smallholding in Thornton, Milford Haven. She is well-known and highly regarded in the equine world and runs the successful Glyncoch Stud of Section A Welsh Mountain ponies, Section C's and Section D Welsh cobs in partnership with her husband Alan and son Adrian. They also have cattle on the farm and a flock of Berrichon sheep. At this year's Royal Welsh Show she will have the honour of judging the Welsh Mountain ponies.
Mrs Pearce is looking forward to hitting the ground running with the Society's flagship event, the Pembrokeshire County Show just a few months away.
