PEMBROKESHIRE COUNTY SHOW
15th, 16th & 17th August 2017
Coast & Country Cottages Grand Arena
Three days of great entertainment
A great display of the beautiful horses and ponies displaying their versatility in a variety of classes will culminate in two prestigious awards on Thursday, 20th August - the Horse of the Year (HOYS) Cuddy In Hand Supreme Championship and the Pembrokeshire County Show Supreme Horse or Pony.
The Grand Parade on Tuesday will showcase the prize winning cattle and horses, whilst the Grand Parade on Thursday which will follow the Supreme Championships will be horses and ponies only.
An exciting line up of attractions are in place for the Grand Arena this year, the White Helmets, exciting harness & scurry racing and the Inter Hunt Gold Cup.
As a fitting Grand Finale to all the Show's attractions, come and join in the excitement and tradition of Harness Racing. We welcome back the Wales & Border Counties Racing Association who will race in two heats and a final in the Grand Arena on Thursday afternoon.
WBCRA is the original independent harness racing organization in Great Britain. You might know the sport as Trotting Races, as it's been a traditional Welsh rural sport for decades - the oldest race meetings date back to the nineteenth century. In the early part of the twentieth century almost every village staged its own races and this practice still continues to some extent as WBCRA moves around a circuit of race meetings. The trainers and drivers are all amateurs, with men and women competing on equal terms.
If you've been Trotting before you'll know that this last event of the Show is really worth waiting for. If you've never seen it, come and share the excitement of cheering on the racers and you just might get hooked!
The White Helmets
Get revved up for The White Helmets - regarded by many as the best Motorcycle Display Team in the world. They will feature in the Grand Arena on Tuesday, giving their traditional, thrilling, and often rather tension-inducing display of high speed action and feats of skill and bravery!
In their immaculate uniforms, the Team performs spectacular feats of balance, incredible acrobatics, and death-defying high speed crossover rides and fire jumps. We might even witness their Six-Bike Fan, a formation newly perfected for this season! Not for the faint-hearted, their half-hour performance is an undoubted highlight of the Show's opening day.
This record-breaking team demonstrates all the qualities of teamwork, courage, trust and strength you'd expect from members of the British Army Royal Signals.
Make sure you're at the Grand Arena for their one-off performance at the Show on Tuesday.
